Phase Two Information

Information regarding the options for phase two of the MBA. If you have any enquiries about phase two, please submit them to us using the enquiry form.

Students must normally complete all phase one papers before they can commence phase two.

The total academic credits required to complete phase two of the MBA is 60 points.

For phase two, students will have the choice of electives or a Professional Consulting Engagement (PCE):

  • The professional consulting engagement can be taken anywhere.
  • Electives can be taken at the University of Otago Dunedin campus, or at one of our international partner universities (international exchange). There are no online options for phase two electives.
  • Students also have a choice of combining both electives and a PCE, as long as the minimum requirement of 60 credits is met.

Once a student has completed nine phase one papers, the MBA Administration team will contact each student to discuss their options for phase two. This allows adequate time to consider all the choices, and to submit an application for International Exchange if this option is chosen. The availabiulity of Phase two options and the timetable can change each year, which is why we suggest you start planning for phase two once have completed nine phase one papers.

The tuition fees for phase two are the same regardless of whether you choose to take the PCE or electives, or a combination. Fees are charged as soon as you start phase two, and must be paid for in full in one payment.
